GUWAHATI: Rhinoland Cricket Academy secured a narrow 8-run victory over Ankurjyoti Club in the 10th Sitaram Chhawchharia Memorial U19 Cricket Tournament at the NFRSA ground in Maligaon today.
Chirantan Das was the standout performer for Rhinoland, delivering a sensational bowling performance with figures of 6-30 in his 10-over spell, which played a crucial role in the team's win.
Batting first, Rhinoland Cricket Academy posted a total of 164 runs, losing all their wickets in 42 overs. Achyut Das top-scored with a solid half-century, contributing 51 runs from 56 balls, including 6 boundaries. Abhishek Yadav and Nihal Ahmed shone with the ball, claiming three wickets each for Ankurjyoti Club.
In response, Prateek Gurung's fine knock of 50 runs from 43 balls, featuring 4 boundaries and 4 sixes, gave Ankurjyoti a strong chase. However, despite his efforts, Ankurjyoti Club could only manage 156 runs in 31.5 overs due to Chirantan’s nice bowling. Additionally, Hritik Rowniar impressed with the ball, taking 2 wickets while conceding no runs.
