National Games: Assam team’s kits to be launched on Sunday at Sarusajai Sports Complex

GUWAHATI: The kits for Assam’s contingent participating in the 38th National Games will be unveiled on Sunday during a ceremony at the Sarusajai Sports Complex. The event will also include a ceremonial send-off for the team.

Assam is set to send a 300-member contingent, comprising players and officials, to compete in 22 disciplines at the Games. Former Indian volleyball captain Abhijit Bhattacharyya has been appointed as the Chef de Mission, while the Deputy Chef de Mission will be announced shortly by the Assam Olympic Association.

The 38th National Games will take place in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14.

Meanwhile in fencing, four athletes from Assam — Berismita Rava, Himadri Moran, Chanchal Sinha, and Lashmita Tumung — have been selected for the forthcoming National Games. They will be accompanied by coach Bembem Devi and manager Tinku Kayastha.
