New Star club lift Pride Cup Cricket title at Amingaon Cricket

GUWAHATI: New Star club lifted the first SLAC Pride Cup Cricket title defeating Ankurjyoti Club by 7 wickets in the final held at the Amingaon Cricket ground today. Rode on an unbeaten half century from Parvez Musaraf (61, 49 balls, 5X4, 1X6), New Star Club scored 157-5 in 20 overs after being invited to bat first. Bishal Roy (32) and Victor Kashyap (22) were the other major contributors. In reply Varun Jajodia (76, 42 balls, 4X9, 3X6) although played a terrific knock but it was not enough for his team as the side finished the run chase 150-9 (20 overs). Bonojit Adhikari, man of the final, collected 3 wickets giving away 18 runs on his four overs spell.

Individual awards: Best batter- Parvez Musaraf (New Star Club). Best bowler- Himangshu Saraswat (Ankurjyoti Club). Player of the tournament- Parvez Musaraf (New Star Club).
