NFRSA to Face Barekuri in Opening Tie of 70th Bordoloi Trophy

GUWAHATI: North East Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) will take on Barekuri FC in the opening game of the 70th Bordoloi Trophy (final round) on March 2.

A total of 17 teams will compete in the final phase of the tournament and they are divided into two groups.

Twelve of these teams earned their spots through various zonal clusters which concluded yesterday. NFRSA and Pride East Mavericks will join them as the champions and runners-up of the Guwahati Premier League. On the other hand three teams – Shillong Lajong FC, Oil India Limited, and North East United FC – have been invited by the Guwahati Sports Association to participate in the final round.

The semi-finals will take place on under floodlight on March 10 and 11 and final is scheduled for March 13.

Group A: OIL, NFRSA, Barekuri FC, ASEBSC, Dubi Sports Association, Dima United, Trinayan Gosthi and Global FC.

Group B: North East United FC, Shillong Lajong FC, Baradi FC, Pride East Mavericks, Navajyoti Club, Rani Coaching Centre, 19th Assam Police Battalion, Dhekiajuli Town Club, and Lenroul FC.
