NN Singha Inter-District Girls Football Kicks Off in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The NN Singha Inter-District Girls School Football Competition kicked off in Guwahati on Tuesday with a colourful opening ceremony at Nehru Stadium. The event was attended by Ankur Bharali, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare; Arjuna Awardee Nayanmoni Saikia; Shambhu Yadav, Deputy Director of SAI Regional Centre, Guwahati; and Dipak Boro, Head Coach of Football at the same centre.

Several matches were played on the opening day, producing some big results. Bongaigaon dominated Cachar with a massive 10-0 victory, while Nagaon matched that scoreline by thrashing South Salmara 10-0. Kokrajhar also impressed with an 8-0 win over Majuli, and Lakhimpur cruised past Chirang 7-0.
