BORDUMSA: "Once I commit anyone for anything, I don't leave it mid-way," remarked Bordumsa Independent MLA Somlung Mossang here at Bordumsa in Changlang district on Saturday evening during a formal reception programme organized to welcome 22-year old Arunachalee 'fighter -boy' Jowkhum Dilli Singpho, the Bronze medal winner at the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) Asian Championship 2021 held at Krygyzstan on August 27.

Mossang was addressing the gathering of people of multiple communities who had thronged to accord felicitation to the fighter-boy of Bordumsa. Jowkhum Dilli Singpho was formally received by ADC Bordumsa Talo Jerang, Khachang Maio, the ZPM Bordumsa, Jowkhong Singpho, the president of Singpho Development Society (SDS), and other dignitaries at the Assam-Arunachal border check gate with a bouquet of flowers and traditional Singpho scarf and turban.

He was subsequently escorted to Singpho Cultural Heritage Centre wherein the local legislator, Mossang, his wife Krishna Mossang, Pisilu Singpho, the president of Bordumsa Mahila Mandal, Singpho chiefs, Singpho students and youths, women organizations and several others from various communities and community-based organizations accorded a red-carpet welcome to the hero marked by traditional folk dances and bursting of crackers.

"When one becomes an elected representative of a constituency, he becomes a part of a greater mass mingling with all alike with a secular outlook, negating the differences whatsoever," said the MLA during his formal address at the auditorium. He added, "I as an MLA do not belong to any specific tribe or community, I rather belong to all communities- Singpho, Nockte, Tangsa, ponthai, Adivasi, Chakma, Ahom, Sonowal residing in the constituency."

He assured all possible help to anyone from any community of the constituency who wanted to explore their talent in any field or arts. "I am ready to sponsor the institutional expenses of Jowkhum Bhai if he continues to upgrade himself in the art from any institution or fighting club of his choice," said the legislator, while adding, "Once I commit, I never quit mid-way."

ADC Bordumsa lauded the success of the fighter, terming it as 'unprecedented success of Bordumsa people'.

However Dilli expressed gratefulness to all the stakeholders and well wishers for the blessings and support extended during the hours of his needs.
