Ranji Trophy: Assam face Railways from today at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Assam will take on Railways in a sixth-round match of the Ranji Trophy, which resumes after a long pause. The match is scheduled to be held at the ACA Stadium in the city.

Assam, placed in Elite Group D, has played five matches this season but has struggled to deliver an impressive performance. In their previous five matches, Assam failed to secure a single win. The team lost two games and ended the other three in draws. With only five points in their tally, Assam finds itself at the bottom of the points table in the eight-team group.

In contrast, Railways has performed considerably better. They, too, have played five games but managed to collect 14 points, placing them third in the points table.

Ahead of this crucial match, Assam has made multiple changes to their squad. It is anticipated that there will also be a couple of alterations in the playing XI as the team looks to turn its fortunes around.
