GUWAHATI: The ongoing AATA-AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament saw a series of upsets on Tuesday as three seeded players were knocked out in the girls' U-16 singles pre-quarterfinals. Third-seeded Sreen Ghosh of West Bengal was defeated by unseeded Sheevali Gogoi of Assam in straight sets, 4-2, 4-2. In another shock result, unseeded Arisha M. Choudhury of Assam overcame fourth-seeded state-mate Mrigakshee Changmai in a tense three-set match, 4-0, 2-4, 4-0. Fifth-seeded Devanshi Tamuly of Assam also fell to unseeded Soni Prajapati, losing 4-1, 5-3. Due to heavy rain in the morning, play was delayed and matches began at 12:30 pm. All pre-quarterfinals were played in a shortened format of best-of-three sets.
