Silchar in semis of veteran cricket defeating Jorhat by 16 runs

GUWAHATI: Silchar entered into the semi-final in the 11th Veteran Inter-District and Inter-Institution Invitational T-20 Cricket Tournament defeating Jorhat by 16 runs in the last quarter-final held at Mangaldoi today. Invited to bat, Silchar scored 133-7 in their 20 overs. Masarab Hussain and Abhishek Chakraborty contributed 27 runs each. Later although Parthib Hazarika (71) played a solid knock he didn’t get support from the other end and Jorhat was managed to score 117-7 in 20 overs. Parthib later adjudged man of the match award. In the semifinals, Silchar will now face Lakhimpur on Monday.
