Silver Jubilee of All Bodoland Taekwondo Association gets underway at Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The Silver Jubilee celebration of All Bodoland Taekwondo Association (ABTA) with prize money of ‘Best of the Best’ got underway from today at Sikhnajhar Taekwondo Gymnasium. The participants from all four districts of BTC including players from other districts of the state including invited participants for a demonstration from Bhutan, Sikkim, and Darjeeling have already arrived at the venue.

The general secretary of ABTA Lachit Basumatary said as many as 500 participants from BTC districts including Goalpara and demonstrators from Bhutan, Darjeeling, and Sikkim have enrolled in the registration till the evening on Monday. He said some more participants could come late. He also said the competition would be held on Tuesday after the ceremonial opening of the arena by BTC EM Rajib Brahma.

As part of the program, the president of the ABTA Biswajit Daiamary who is also Rajya Sabha MP will hoist the flag of the association while Mascot of the silver jubilee celebration would be unveiled by BTC EM Maheswar Basumatary followed by the inauguration of jubilee tomb by Grand Master MT Lepcha, Chief Technical Director of All Bodoland Taekwondo Association.

On the concluding ceremony, the Chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary will attend as the chief guest while BTC EM of Sports and Youth Welfare Doneswar Goyary, EMs and MCLAs of BTC are invited to the closing ceremony.
