Super Series Tennis from today

GUWAHATI: The OIL – AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament for boys and girls U-16 age group will start from tomorrow at the Chachal Tennis Complex in the city. The final is slated for September 3. Around 80 players from Assam, Manipur, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Gujarat, Punjab, Telengana, Maharashtra and West Bengal have confirmed their participation in this AITA ranking tournament. There will be no opening and closing ceremonies of the tournament due to COVID 19 restrictions.

It may be mentioned that it would be the first major sports competition in the city after a long gap as sports activities were suspended due to second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. Last year the tournament was not held due to COVID-19 pandemic.
