Tania Kumari in semifinals under 16 singles event of OIL – AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament at All Assam Tennis Association Complex

GUWAHATI: Tania Kumari of Assam stormed into the semi finals of the girls under 16 singles event of the OIL – AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament at All Assam Tennis Association Complex here today. The other Assam girl 6th seed Jeniffer Chakko however lost her quarter final match to Nainika Bendram of Maharashtra in straight sets 7-5, 6-1. In another major upset in the girls singles event un seeded Sohini Sanjay Mohanty of Odisha outclassed top seed Dhvani Kavad of Gujarat in a gruelling three setter 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. In the boys singles quarter finals there were two upsets which were caused by 7th seed Smit Patel of Gujarat and 5th seed Krish Tyagi of Karnataka.
