GUWAHATI: Triranga Cricket Coaching Centre secured a dominant 105-run victory over Gauhati Town Club in the 10th Sitaram Chhawchharia Memorial U-19 Cricket Tournament, held at the NFRSA Stadium in Maligaon on Monday.
Triranga, invited to bat first, posted a competitive total of 262/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Sintu Das played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 84 runs off 91 balls, featuring six boundaries. Prangan Pratim Das (37) and Sidhyan Mahato (30) also contributed significantly to the total.
Abhigyan Newar and Dhuruv Bishnoi bagged two wickets each for Gauhati Town Club.
In response, Gauhati Town Club was bowled out for 157 in 39.3 overs. Although Devraj Sharma fought valiantly with a half-century (57 runs from 68 balls, including eight boundaries), it was not enough to chase down the target. Shaurya Yadav was the standout bowler, claiming impressive figures of 5/20, supported well by Rakibul Islam who took 3/47. Yash Poddar (36) was the other notable contributor for Gauhati Town Club.
Sintu Das was later adjudged as the player of the match for his well composed knock of 84 runs.
