Master Athletics the Athletics Federation of India to register before participation

GUWAHATI: Keeping in mind the irregularities in Master Athletics the Athletics Federation of India has started online registration for the Masters athlete. The registration window will close on May 10. Minimum age for registration is 35 years. Athletics Federation of India has received several complaints regarding irregularities in the different Masters Athletics Meets. The issue has been raised in various meetings and AFI AGMs by many members and discussed several times to streamline the same.

Last month a meeting in this regard was held and it was decided to organize activities of the Masters Athletics directly from AFI office and also decided to organize the competitions for them.

All the registered athletes will be provided an AFI-UID (Unique Identification Number) on the payment of Rs 1,000. AFI will announce the dates of National Championships once registration process will be over. Only the registered athletes with AFI UID can participate in the National Championships to be organized by Athletics Federation of India.
