Guwahati: Md Iftikar Seikh bagged the men's singles title defeating Anchit Gogoi 6-1, 6-2 in final in the 23rd India Club-Anup Lahoty Open Tennis Championship which concluded at the India club premises today.
In the boys' singles (U-18) AnchitGogoi clinched the title beating VedAdityaKalita 6-2, 6-1 while in the girls' singles (U-18) JustinaBuragohain won the title defeating TaniyaKumari 7-5, 6-4 in the final.
In the boys' singles (U-14) VedAdityaKalita clinched the title beating RiyanKashyap 6-2, 6-3 while AdrikaRajkumari bagged the girls' singles (U-14) title beating RoshniBharadwaj in the title clash.
In the Senior Men's Doubles (above 35 years) Rajesh Barua and Shiv Kumar Prajapati emerged champion defeating Rajeeb Bora and DilipMohanaty 6-7, 6-1, 6-3. In the senior men's Doubles (above 45 years) AnkushDutta and BiramBorkataky won the title beating AshisAgarwal and DipjyotiBarua 4-2, 4-2 in the final. Kalyan Kumar Das and Amlandeep Das clinched the title in the senior men's doubles (above 55 years) defeating RandipBarua and RajibHandique 8-3 in the title clash.
In the closing function the assembled people observed one minute silence to condole the demise of senior member of India Club Niloy Das who passed away on January 23. Prizes were distributed by Ranjan Kumar Choudhury, Ashok Kumar Das, NazimNesar Ahmed, AshimChowdury, Bijan Kumar Choudhuri, Biswadeep Bora, BimalBharali and AbaniBarua.
