Media T20 Cricket Tournament begins today in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Last time's runners-up Media Management will lock horns with Guwahati Press Club, while Prasar Bharati will clash with host Assam Sports Journalists Association (ASJA) in the inaugural day of the TOPCEM-ASJA T20 Inter-Media T20 Cricket Tournament at Judges' Field here on Wednesday.

The annual event will feature four teams after defending champions Electronic Media pulled out due to internal constraints.

The opening ceremony, which will be held at 2 pm at the match venue on Wednesday, will be graced by Dr Anil Kapoor, President (Sales & Marketing), Meghalaya Cements Ltd, Dharma Kanta Mili, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, former Assam Ranji Team captain Syed Zakaria Zuffri and secretary of the Gauhati Press Club Sanjoy Roy as special guests among a host of well wishers of ASJA.

The tournament will be held complete adherence to Covid-19 protocols and all participants have been advised to practice social distancing and minimum physical contact with one another.
