MS Dhoni likely to quit international cricket after India's last match in World Cup

The most talked about factor about the Indian cricket team at present is MS Dhoni and his bad form on the field. Whether one calls it a rumour or a fact, this has been heard that this perhaps is the last World Cup of the former Indian skipper. Some has even said that the last match in the World Cup tournament would also be the last International match played by Dhoni. However, the legitimacy of the news is not known yet as nothing can be speculated about the unpredictable Dhoni.

A senior BCCI official said, "You never know with MS Dhoni. But it is unlikely that he will continue to play for India after this World Cup. But since his decisions to quit captaincy from the three formats have been taken so suddenly, it is very difficult to predict at the moment."

If India, after its semi-final battle, qualifies for the final and plays the Final match on July 14, then that would perhaps be the last match of MS Dhoni. However, the next match to be played by team India in the World Cup is against Sri Lanka which will be India’s last match in the league game.

Dhoni, has not been showing a particularly good result in the ongoing ICC cricket world cup but would not mean that he has been of no use to his team. It is only because of his experience, expertise and guidance that team India has been performing particularly well in the tournament.

The Ranchi boy’s journey from tennis ball matches to duce ball has been extraordinary and unmatchable. Dhoni has been able to shine after a long tiring struggle against his destiny. The position he has been able to grab today coming from a background of non-cricket playing family is beyond a match with anyone else.
