Muhammad Aras Razak appointed badminton coach in Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR: Muhammad Aras Razak of Indonesia will be serving as a permanent coach of Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA).

Addressing the media person at the press club here today, Razak ensured that the athletes from the State in a couple of years will be participating in the international level events.

He also expected support and cooperation from parents, athletes and the association for bringing out the talents so that they can represent the State as well as win medals in international events.

ASBA President Techi Rotu said that the association has signed a MoU for two years with Razak. And accordingly, the association has identified more than 20 potential players through the initiative, 'Catch them young', from the age of 9-17 years of age aiming for Olympic 2028 and after.

He said with the arrival of highly skilled coaches, the standard of athletes will reach a new height in days to come. He appealed to the state government, athletes and parents to extend every possible support in the mission so as to bring laurels for the state and the country in future games.

Meanwhile, ASBA Secretary Bamang Tago said that to have a permanent badminton coach for the athletes was a dream. This has been finally accomplished with the help of the state government and commitment of ASBA president Techi Rotu.

He also said that the parents of the athletes are much to be acknowledged without whom, the dream to have a coach wouldn't be possible.

"Now, that we have a world experienced coach in the state, we hope that our athletes will in days to come shine in national as well as international level Badminton championship," he said, adding that having a coach will now enhance the potential of the athletes..

He also informed that with the support of the state government, the athletes will soon have an international standard Badminton court which is under construction at Chimpu.
