Nagaland goalie James Kithan all set to join Northeast United FC

Guwahati: Nagaland footballer James Kithan will be a part of the Northeast United FC in the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL), reports said. Kithan has been on the NEUFC's radar for quite some time.

The 25-year old goalkeeper had joined Churchill Brothers FC Goa in 2017 on a free transfer but his contract expired in May 2020. Sources close to NEUFC have informed that there is almost a 75 percent probability that he will be joining the Highlanders this season. Speaking to Morung Express, Kithan said, "I would be happy if I get a chance play for a big club like NEUFC."

Kithan's best performances so far include the 8 I-League appearances that he made for Churchill Brothers in the 2019-20 season. His current market value is Rs 8.33 million. Although the resumption of the sport seems like a reality of the distant future, his fans are hopeful that the deal goes through and he is able to represent the highlanders.

Besides Kithan, the NEUFC has been tracking Ubaid CK, another goalkeeper who is playing for Gokulam FC Kerala.
