NEW DELHI: India has achieved a monumental feat as Rhythm Sangwan clinched the 16th quota place for the upcoming Paris Olympics. This marks an unprecedented accomplishment and sets a remarkable precedent in India's sporting history, surpassing their prior record of securing 15 quotas during the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. It is noteworthy that this extraordinary achievement was made possible by Rhythm's outstanding performance at the Asian Olympic Qualifiers.

Born in Haryana, the young shooter aged 20 played a crucial role on her team that secured gold for 25m sports pistol at Hangzhou Asian Games. Her exceptional talent was evident as she scored an impressive total of 28 during the final rounds and achieved a highly deserving bronze medalist title. While earning third place might seem ordinary to some, her outstanding performance guaranteed India's Olympic quota which brings their record-breaking count up to sixteen!

Esha Singh and Varun Tomar have previously earned Olympic quota places in the women's and men's 10m air pistol events, respectively. Rhythm has achieved a bronze medal which adds to her collection from the ongoing Asian Olympic Qualifiers where she had earlier won third place in the same event as Esha who secured gold. Moreover, Rhythm also bagged silver in partnership with Arjun Singh Cheema for the mixed team event of 10m air pistol shooting competition yet again showcasing their talent on this platform.

After her victory, Rhythm expressed satisfaction and gave credit to Vineet Kumar, her personal coach. She was beaming with happiness while commenting on winning the bronze medal that secured a quota for India in Olympics. Gratitude poured out of Rhythm towards her supporters and especially Coach Kumar who played an instrumental role in this achievement. Additionally, she highlighted the importance of a Bronze Medal in fulfilling quotas for prestigious events like Olympics from India's side.

Upon reflecting on her accomplishment, Rhythm recognized the distinct significance of each medal she earned. However, she emphasized that winning the bronze secured an Olympic quota for India and held a unique place in her heart as a result. In light of this feat, Rhythm expressed deep gratitude towards Vineet Kumar and requested his continued blessings with humility. "Being able to achieve this milestone for my country was an incredible honor," said Rhythm candidly about her experience.

The shooting team of India is well-prepared to present an exceptional performance at the Paris Olympics, proven by Rhythm Sangwan's accomplishments that serve as proof of the country's escalating proficiency in this game.
