Melbourne: Novak Djokovic's bid for the record 11th Australian Open took a major blow as the Serbian great retired with injury following a first set of the semifinal against Alexander Zverev on Friday. The 37-year-old took to social media to reflect on his retirement from the semi-final stating he ‘could only push so far’.

"Tried to recover for today’s match but I could only push so far. Nevertheless, positives to take out of this year’s Aus Open. Congratulations to @AlexZverev for making another GS final. I wish you to win the title because you deserve it, my friend," said Djokovic in a social media post. IANS
