Popy, Ditimoni win gold in 37th National Games in Goa

GUWAHATI: Assam added two more gold medals in the medal tally in the 37th National Games in Goa on Thursday. Both the medals came in weightlifting.

Popy Hazarika bagged the first gold medal of the day in the 59kg category lifting 86kg in snatch and 105 kg in clean and jerk. Later Ditimoni Sonowal won the second gold participating in the women 64kg category. She lifted 88kg in snatch and 112 kg in clean and jerk.

With these two medals Assam took their medal tally to six which included three gold, one silver and two bronze.
