PRETORIA: The South Africa women's cricket team is all set to return for a training camp on Sunday following a long gap put forward by coronavirus pandemic. The week-long camp is scheduled to help the players gear up for their proposed tour of England later this year. The 24-member squad will regroup at the High Performance Center in Pretoria and this will be the first time the national team players will be together after crashing out of the semis at ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in March.

"The projected tour of England will have a heavy emphasis on the 50-over format as we start preparing for the ICC Women's World Cup which is still scheduled to be played in New Zealand early next year," Graeme Smith, CSA's director of cricket, was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

"We have been through a frustrating period with the team not able to build on the excellent form they showed at the Women's T20 World Cup and next week's camp represents an important new starting point." IANS
