Sports essay competition organized on birth anniversary of the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah

GUWAHATI: Sports Authority of Assam has organized a prize money sports essay competition on the occasion of birth anniversary of the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah. The competition is open for students and is divided into two categories: Junior (Age from 9 to 15 years) and Senior (Age from 16 to 21 years). The topic for the junior category is 'Contribution of Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah to Sports in Assam' and for senior category 'Importance of Sports in Educational Institutions'. In each category cash awards of Rs.1500, 1000 and 500 will be given to the top three entries. The last date of submission is October 31.

It may be mentioned here that October 17 is the birth day of RG Baruah and the day is celebrated as Assam Sports Day every year.
