NEW DELHI: The sports sector of the state of Assam is to be refurnished with a sum of 1300 Cr. as declared by the government. The progress of this sector will not be possible without highly developed and enhanced infrastructural tools and set up.

This news has come up on air after a victorious win of Lovlina Borgohain in the Tokyo Olympics of 2020 where the boxer was able to grab a medal in the name of the country.

The decision has been taken with an intention to encourage and facilitate the upcoming players and athletes of the state in order to create more such names like Lovlina in the world of sports and athletics.

The statement has been given by the sports minister of the state Bimal Borah where he mentioned that a sum of 1200 to 1300 Cr. will be allocated in the name of sports for the all-around development of this sector.

The sports minister in this regard stated, "Apart from our state funds, we have further designed to spend supplies from additional sources in the sports division. We have projected to spend nearby Rs 1200-1300 crore for infrastructure improvement in the sports division".

The minister also mentioned that along with this, the government will also come up with several other projects for the development and growth of the state in the sport arena. In another news, the finance minister of the state, Ajanta Neog mentioned last month during her speech in the Assam assembly that multi-disciplinary complexes especially created for different games and sports will be constructed in the state.

This will encourage the youth to come up from the shell and take open participation in the different sports events. It has also come to notice that after the completion of 2020 Tokyo Olympic, demands have been raised by the different sections of people to encourage the kids by the parents as well as by the government itself to take active participation in sports events and classes.
