T20 World Cup: India Don't Play Fearless Brand of Cricket, Says Nasser Hussain

New Delhi: Following India's early exit, the former England skipper Nasser Hussain opened up and said Virat Kohli-led men in blue are talented but they don't play fearlessly in the ICC events.

Notably, India was knocked out of the ongoing T20 World Cup on Sunday after Kiwis defeated Afghanistan by eight wickets in Abu Dhabi to join Pakistan in the knockouts.

While speaking to the t20worldcup.com, the Hussain asserted that you have to play freely on the field. The Indian team has a lot of talent. But not playing openly is taking a toll on them. Despite having a team full of talent, the team does not play fearlessly.

''You have got to go out and express yourself. They (India) have got so much talent. That may be the only thing that's holding India back in ICC events. They don't quite play the fearless brand of cricket that they deserve to because they are so talented," he said.

The former English captain said that India was a contender for me, they were already playing IPL here and they also have big players. But they got a big blow in the first match itself, as Shaheen Afridi bowled in the powerplay and dismissed Rohit-Rahul, it was quite spectacular.

Hussain admitted that Team India is the best in the top order, but some of the middle-order doesn't get much of a hit due which Plan-B is needed.

He also said that just playing Hardik Pandya as a batsman alters the balance of the side.

The Indian team had lost two matches in the beginning of this T20 World Cup against Pakistan and New Zealand who defeated the latter by a big margin. After this, the Indian team defeated Afghanistan, Scotland but failed to reach the semi-finals.
