Table Tennis United Premier League begins

Guwahati: The 1st Table Tennis United Premier League, organized by the Nagen Hazarakia Table Tennis Foundation, got under way at the Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor stadium here today. The championship was inaugurated by Hemanga Thakuria, MLA of Palashbari constituency in a colourful opening ceremony.

Altogether 16 teams are participating in the 3-day competition and they were divided into four groups. Both the semi finals will be held on April 10 and it would be followed by final on the same day.

Apart from Thakuria the other dignitaries present in the opening ceremony was former MLA Shiladitya Dev, Modalasa Hazarika, former paddler and president of the Nagen Hazarika Table Tennis Foundation, Satish K Sarhadi, Director of SAI, (NE Region) and others.
