New Delhi: Virat Kohli has surprised everyone by quitting Test match captaincy and with this, the era of 'Virat Captaincy' in Indian cricket ended.

Notably, Kohli has taken Team India to new heights and it is believed that Virat got established team, but it is not easy for anyone to lead that team in the right direction. Despite facing all the criticism, he fulfilled his responsibility very well.

As Virat quitted, now the question arises that who will be the next captain.

The Indian Test team needs a captain who can fill Virat's place and can take Team India even further. For this, the Indian team has two best options and the first is being Rohit Sharma while the second one is KL Rahul. Both these players have the ability to become captains. Although Rahul does not have much experience yet, one shouldn't be doubting his capability of being a captain.

Rohit has captained in ODIs and T20s before Test matches and he has proved his skills to be a captain. Rohit has played 43 test matches for Team India so far, where he scored 3047 runs during this period. Rohit, who is also known as a hitman, has scored 8 centuries and 14 half-centuries in Test matches. He has also scored a double century in this format.

Coming to KL Rahul, he has played 43 test matches so far and he does not have captaincy experience in Test matches. He was captained in one match of the Test series against South Africa which the men in blue lost.

Although, he has captained in other formats, where he has been good enough. He has scored 2547 runs in 43 test matches played so far. During this, he has also scored 7 centuries and 13 half-centuries.
