T20 World Cup Semifinal: Kiwis To Lock Horns With England

Dubai: The T20 World Cup 2021 has now reached its peak as 4 semi-final teams have been decided. The first semi-final of the tournament will be played between England and New Zealand in Abu Dhabi on November 10.

After the 2019 ODI World Cup, both the teams have come face to face in a big match of a major tournament. In such a scenario, the New Zealand team has a chance to avenge the defeat in the final of 2019. On the other hand, the England team would eye for their second T20 World Cup title.

In the group stage of this tournament, both the teams have won 4 out of their 5 matches. The England team was on top in Group-1, while New Zealand's team was placed second in Group-2. Whichever team wins this match will secure the ticket to the final.

Notably, all the batsmen of the English team are in tremendous form. In the opening department both Jos Buttler and Jason Roy are capable of giving a good start to the team. David Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Captain Eoin Morgan, Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali have taken up the responsibility to strengthen the team in the middle order.

However, the weakness of the team is that Jason Roy got injured in the last match. He had complained of hamstrings. Now, he is out of the tournament itself. Jonny Bairstow can open in his place.

Coming to bowling department, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan and Mark Wood have strengthened the team in fast bowling. The spin department is handled by Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali. Captain Eoin Morgan would not like to tamper with his bowling lineup.

On the other hand New Zealand skipper captain Kane Williamson would not like to tamper with his winning playing-11 combination. Once again Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell can be seen opening for the team. Both have given the team a strong start so far.

In the middle order, apart from Captain Williamson, wicket-keeper batsmen Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips and Jimmy Neesham have taken the lead.

However, there could be a problem as Williamson and Conway are not in the great form which they are known for. The captain himself is struggling to score runs. However, Phillips and Neesham are definitely doing their job brilliantly.
