Cristiano Ronaldo Creates History by Scoring in Five FIFA World Cups

DOHA: The lead striker from Portugal created history by becoming the first footballer to score in five FIFA world cups. Cristiano Ronaldo created history when he scored the penalty in the match against Ghana on Thursday.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal in FIFA World Cup in the year 2006. And since then he has managed to score in each of the tournaments he has played. The 2022 version of the tournament is the fifth one on his list. He also holds the record for the highest number of international goals, and the number stands at 118. A penalty shot against Iran in the FIFA World Cup of 2006 started his tally of World Cup goals.

The match ended with Portugal winning the match 3:2 against Ghana.

All eyes are on Cristiano Ronaldo as this is expected to be the last FIFA World Cup at the age of 37. He has also cut his ties with Manchester United very recently and has not signed agreements with any other club yet.

This edition of the FIFA World Cup has given many surprises within the first week of its kick-off. The first and possibly the most unexpected was the defeat of Argentina in the hands of Saudi Arabia. While Argentina came into the tournament as one of the main contenders of the trophy, Saudi Arabia was one of the underdogs among the 32 teams that are playing in this tournament. The game was won with two goals by Saudi against one by Argentina. This is being called to be among the top ten upsets in the history of the tournament.

The second upset of the tournament was the defeat of Germany by Japan. The German team was called to be much stronger and more experienced compared to Japan, but the results of the match proved otherwise. Japan beat Germany with a score of 2:1.

Only time will tell how many more surprises are on the way for the fans of the game.
