Junior National Women Football Championship: Assam Knocked Out By Haryana

Assam bowed out of the Junior National Women Football Championship losing their last group-league match to Haryana at Dimakuchi today. Haryana won the group ‘G’ match by 6-2.

Guwahati: Assam bowed out of the Junior National Women Football Championship losing their last group-league match to Haryana at Dimakuchi today. Haryana won the group 'G' match by 6-2. While Anjuli Brahma scored both the goals for the host Nancy (2), Kalpana, Reena, Saniya (2) were the scorers for the winner. With this victory Haryana moved into the next round with 9 points from 3 matches. Gujarat (6 points), Assam (3) and Poducherry (0) finished second, third and fourth respectively. Earlier today Gujarat at the same venue thrashed Poducherry by 7-0.

At the Sarusajai Sports Complex, Arunachal Pradesh entered into the next round defeating Goa by 3-0 in a group 'D' match. Arunachal collected 7 points from their three games and finished at top in group-league phase.

The results of other matches held on Saturday: Chhattisgarh bt Karnataka 3-1 (Sarusajai Sports Complex), Himachal Pradesh bt Sikkim 3-0 (Sarusajai Sports Complex), Mizoram bt Uttar Pradesh 3-1 (Sarusajai Sports Complex).
