ROME: Juventus returned to the top four in Serie A on Thursday as they notched their fifth consecutive win with a 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona.

The Bianconeri were brimming with confidence after beating arch-rivals Inter Milan 1-0 in the Derby d'Italia last round.

Nevertheless, they found the going tough against Verona, with the sole goal coming on the hour mark thanks to Moise Kean's deflected strike, while the home side had two penalty appeals waved away by VAR.

Juve defender Alex Sandro saw red deep into stoppage time for a shove on Kevin Lasagna, who was through on goal.

The win sees Juve climb to fourth place with 28 points, ten points behind leaders Napoli.

Elsewhere, Lazio surged up to second place after seeing off Monza 1-0. Agencies
