After abdominal injury at Wimbledon now Nadal may compete in Canadian Open

MONTREAL (Canada): Spanish tennis stalwart and winner of 22 grand slam singles titles, Rafael Nadal is likely to compete in the North American hard-court swing, including the Canadian Open, as he has made his hotel reservations for the event which runs from August 8-14. Nadal had aggravated an abdominal injury during his Wimbledon last-eight win over Taylor Fritz of the US and withdrawn from his semifinal clash against Australia's Nick Kyrgios. While experts felt the 36-year-old might be forced to skip the last grand slam of the year, the US Open, Nadal has revealed he should recover completely in 3-4 weeks to carry on with a "normal calendar" after that.
