Kaliyani Open Tennis begins

NUMALIGARH, January 3: The 14th Kaliyani Open All Assam Junior Ranking Tennis Championship got under way, hosted by Kaliyani Club, at premises of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) Township on Monday under the aegis of All Assam Tennis Association (AATA). Raktim Saikia ,President of AATA, inaugurated the tournament in presence of tournament director Sobhan Konwar and Hemanta Kr. Nath, President of Kaliyani Club, NRL. Speaking on the occasion, Raktim Saikia emphasized the need for inculcating sportsmanship spirit for all round development of youngsters. Around 170 players from all across the state have participated in various events of the Kaliyani Open which will conclude on January 6. All necessary Covid-19 protocols were followed at the event for smooth functioning the entire meet.
