Oil All Assam Junior Tennis Championship Flags Off in Duliajan

DULIAJAN: The much-awaited Oil All Assam Junior Tennis Championship 2022-23 was inaugurated on the morning of December 6, Tuesday. The matches will be held at the Zaloni Club in Duliajan from December 6 to December 10.

Atindra Roy Chowdhury, the Acting Chief Residencial Officer of Oil India Limited was present for the event alongside former national level tennis player and Dhyan Chand Award winner Nandan Bal as the main guests for the inaugural event. All Assam Tennis Association President Raktim Shaikia, General Secretary Ankush Dutta, Joint Secretary Ramanuj Dutta, Pollution Control Council Chairman Dr Anup Kumar Mishra, Member Secretary Dr Shantanu Dutta and Water and Waste Management Expert Venkat R Purnama also attended the event.

Member of the Jitu Zumba Dance group and Rupa Dance studio performed at the event. The NCC band contingent from the Kendriya Vidyalaya also performed in the inaugural event which saw the presence of 120 participants from all over the state.

The welcome speech was given by Diponjay Daulaguphu, the chairman of the organising committee while the organising secretary Lokrak Nilling delivered the vote of thanks for the event.

Several of the top-ranking players will be playing in the All Assam Junior Tennis Championship 2022-23. Some of them include the state's Under-14 rankings Parthiv Kalita (boys) and Adrika Rajkumari (girls), Under-18 rankings Manan Nath (boys) and Anchita Shukla (Girls) and Under-12 number one ranking player Chandgya Pathak (boys).

Taking place in five categories, the competition has a huge amount for grabs for the winners. Rs 36000 for Boys Under 12, Rs 44000 each for Boys Under 14 and Girls Under 14 and Rs 50000 each for Boys Under 18 and Girls Under 18. The organisers have also arranged for the accommodation of the players coming for the competition.
