Squash courts ready for SAG

GUWAHATI, Jan 25: Test Event of Squash will be held at the newly built Squash courts in the RG Baruah Sports Complex on January 27 and 28. Two teams -Royal Global School and Assam Valley school will take part in the championship.

The squash courts of the RG Baruah Sports Complex is the newest edition among all the venues that are hosting the 12th South Asian Games, 2016. Sports infrastructure and the game itself will get further boost in the state with the coming up of this intertiol standard squash court. The newly built indoor stadium, adjacent to the Bimala Prasad Chaliha swimming pool in RG Baruah Sports complex, will have four squash courts along with spectators sitting provision.

India already announced squad for squash event of the forthcoming South Asian Games which included many top stars of the country like Saurav Ghosal, Josh Chippa and Dipika Pallikal.

Meanwhile test event for the Volleyball started in the bin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium, Sarusajai today. Four teams- Chhattisgarh, Orissa and two teams from Assam are participating in this meet.
