12 children rescued from the clutches of human traffickers

RANGIYA, July 21: In a joint raid, GRPF and RPF personnel rescued twelve children, including a minor girl, from the clutches of human traffickers at Rangiya railway station on Tuesday. The team also arrested one Kamal Daimary in this regard. Police sources said that a human trafficking racket was trying to take the twelve children from Majbat in Udalguri to Bangalore and was waiting to board a train at Rangiya station. However, the RPF received a tip off from Udalguri and swung into action. All the children were in the age group of 10-13. It has been learnt that the traffickers were taking them to Bangalore on the pretext of giving jobs.
