14,743 samples pending examition at Forensic lab

Guwahati, July 18: Assam government today informed that 14,743 samples sent to the State Forensic Laboratory are yet to be examined due to various reasons, including shortage of chemicals, equipment and staff. The FSL had registered 991 cases between 2010 and 2016. Fifty samples involving cases registered in 2010 are yet to be examined. Similarly 58 samples of 2011, 544 samples of 2012, 2,762 samples of 2013, 3,827 samples of 2014, 4,711 samples of 2015 and 4,711 samples of 2016 have not been tested yet.
