16-year old raped, thrown out of moving auto in Bokajan

BOKAJAN, May 7: A 16-year old girl was allegedly raped and thrown out of a moving autorickshaw at Bokajan. The unconscious minor girl was spotted by commuters near a temple along NH 39 at Khatkhati on Friday morning. The victim was initially admitted at Bokajan Civil Hospital but later shifted to Dimapur for better medical attention. Locals said they saw the victim travelling in an autorickshaw with two youths whom they identified as Sanjay Singh and Kishan Rai of Khatkhati. The duo is absconding. Police have traced the auto rickshaw (AS 09C 4203) and the owner, Manoj Kumar Rai, who is the elder brother of Kishan Rai, has been picked up. Various organizations, including the Karbi Students' Association (KSA), submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong through the OC of Khatkhati police station, demanding immediate arrest of the culprits and adequate compensation to the victim.
