22 lakh join Assam BJP

GUWAHATI, April 5: The BJP tiol leadership has expressed satisfaction at the membership drive by Assam BJP, with more than 22 lakh persons joining the party by 31st March. State BJP president Siddhartha Bhattacharya informed that while the total number of missed calls received was above 25 lakh, more than 22 lakh missed calls were followed by SMSes with addresses, thereby qualifying for active membership. At this rate, the BJP membership drive extended by one month to April 30 will bring in a total of 35 lakh members, party leaders felt. Bhattacharya also said that at the recently concluded BJP tiol Executive meet at Bengaluru, Assam was accorded the highest priority among the five states whose affairs were discussed.
