2nd intertiol agri–horticulture show in city from tomorrow

GUWAHATI, February 8: The State Agriculture Department is going to hold the second Assam Intertiol Agri–Horticulture Show at Khapara in the city from February 10, 2015. The show will continue till February 14 with the participation of as many as 12 tions and 25 foreign companies.

Talking to newsmen here today, State Agriculture Minister Rakibul Hussain said: “The aim of the agri–horticulture show is to eble agriculture scientists, farmers and companies manufacturing agriculture appliances to share among them and interact their respective experiences with one another at one platform so as to boost productivity.”

A 25–member delegation from Chi, the minister said, is going to take part in the show. Other countries going to take part in the show, according to Hussain, are the USA, the UK, Bangladesh, Italy, Cada, Indonesia, Polland, Nepal, Russia, Taiwan and Bhutan.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is going to iugurate the show the presence of the Union Agriculture Minister. The show, Hussain said, will have interactive sessions amongst agricultural scientists, farmers and companies, besides exhibitions by as many as 70 stalls from outside Assam, 320 local stalls and stalls from 25 foreign companies.

This apart, the minister said, around 3,000 state farmers will be imparted training and awards will be given to the successful farmers of the state.
