3 ULFA (I) militants, 1 GNLA cadre bbed

Dibrugarh, June 19: In a joint operation conducted by Army's 19 Jat Regiment, Dibrugarh Police and 171 Bn CRPF, three ULFA (I)  militants and one GNLA militant were apprehended at Chetia Pathar on Saturday. They were identified as self-styled sergeant Ritupon Borah alias Irfan Asom (23), Dipon Moran alias Prthiraj Moran, Puroni Motapung Gaon, Makum, 'corporal' kul Rabha alias Bishal Asom (18), Amtola, Goalpara , and GNLA cadre Saltiush N. Marak alias Chem (21), Belabor, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya. The security forces recovered three .9 mm pistols, six magazines, 40 rounds of live ammunition and 2 BFDX BF 860 Chinese wireless radio sets from them. The militants confessed they were making transit halt at Chetia Pathar on their way to Arakan camp (1st Brigade), Myanmar from Tura (Meghalaya) on the orders of their deputy c-in-c  Dristi Rajkhowa and were waiting for their guide to take them to Myanmar.
