4 women supporters of KMSS arrested, case against Akhil

GUWAHATI, July 7: Four women supporters of the KMSS were arrested today and sent to judicial custody. On the basis of an FIR lodged by SI Raju Kurmi of Basistha police station a case (754/2015 U/S 143/145/188/224/353) under IPC was registered and investigated. The FIR lodged by SI Kurmi said that he was escorting KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi and some of his supporters from APSC office to Bhetapara Hockey Stadium in a bus for violating prohibitory order promulgated U/S 144 CrPC by appropriate authority, all the boarders of the bus under the instigation of Akhil Gogoi forced the bus driver to stop the bus near Lakhi Mandir under Basistha PS at 1 pm, and after pushing and applying force to the-on-duty police officer and personnel they escaped from lawful custody of the police party on July 6. On July 7, on the basis of FIR, four KMSS supporters were arrested and forwarded in the judicial custody for their involvement in the case.

The me and addresses of the accused are Mee Baruah, 38, wife of Rajen Baruah, rengi Urmi gar, under Noonmati police; Sangita Boro, 32, wife of Babul Chandra Boro, Borbari under Dispur police station;

Minu Saikia, 36, wife of Dilip Saikia, Hengrabari, under Dispur police station; and Bhogeswqari Das, 50, wife of Chandra Mohan Das, Hengrabari Near LP School under Dispur police station.

Meanwhile, today Dispur inspector Biren Chandra Deka, lodged an FIR at Dispur PS today against KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi for, what he said, making some objectioble remarks with crimil conspiracy before media on July 6 during demonstration near APSC office, Khapara. On the basis of the FIR, a case was registered. The investigation of the case is continuing.
