513 frauds dismissed from service

GUWAHATI, March 27: The State Health and Family Welfare Department has dismissed 513 employees who were working in the department with fraudulent transfer orders from service, besides suspending ten officials for conniving with the frauds. State Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed the State Assembly of this on Tuesday. The modus operandi followed was that the five officials, who had never been appointed by the Department, joined Health Department’s offices at various places with forged transfer orders. All such cases are being investigated by the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell and the CID. It is suspected that there are more such appointments of third and fourth grade employees in the department. To delve deep into the forgery, the documents of third grade and fourth grade employees have been examined, but the result is awaited.
