Guwahati, July 26: Police today raided the offices of the Assam Cricket Association at RG Baruah Sports Complex of Nehru Stadium and the under-construction Borsapara stadium on the outskirts of the city.

All documents relating to the finces of the ACA were seized. They will be kept in police custody as per directions of the Gauhati High Court.

The high court had directed seizure of the account books and official documents of the ACA following a PIL by veteran sports organizer Sahajanda Ojha regarding the alleged corruption and irregularities in the State cricket body.

Meanwhile, the Veteran Cricket Association of Assam, a body affiliated to the Board of Veteran Cricket in India, today demanded a high-level probe into the anomalies in the ACA.

Expressing concern at the reports of rampant corruption in the ACA, the veteran cricketers also welcomed the intervention of the Gauhati High Court.

The former cricketers also vehemently opposed the proposal to hand over the Borsapara Stadium to a trust. They also demanded 30 per cent reservation for former cricketers in the ACA governing body, and if required an amendment be brought in the ACA constitution for the purpose.
