Admit card for examinee cow!

Srigar, May 2: Believe it or not, a Kashmiri cow has got an admit card issued by authorities in her me to sit for a professiol entrance examition here next week. The me of the examinee has been printed 'Kachir Gaw' (Brown Cow), supposedly the daughter of 'Gura Dand' (Red Bull).

The incident has left red faces in the J&K Board of Professiol Entrance Examitions (BOPEE). The cow was allotted a seat at Government Degree College, Bemi, for writing the entrance examition on May 10 for Diploma in Polytechnic.

After tiol Conference spokesperson Juid Azim Mattu uploaded a copy of the admit card on Twitter, the examition authorities have become the butt of jokes in social media. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed his wish to see the bovine candidate ‘appear for the paper’.

An embarrassed Controller of Examitions Farooq Ahmad Mir expressed helplessness, saying there is not much the authorities can do to prevent pranksters. Pointing out that all applications are nowadays made online, Mir laid the blame squarely on the image recognition software which ‘does not differentiate between a human face and an animal picture’.

On being asked how his sigture was put on the admit card issued to the cow, Mir said that he does not sign admit cards in person. “This is a system generated sigture and comes by default,” he said.

However, the authorities are planning to hit back with the BOPEE set to file a complaint. “We will track down the IP address of the person who has played this prank,” Mir warned.
