AEC students’ memo to DC

GUWAHATI, February 7: The students of Assam Engineering College (AEC), Guwahati blocked the road to Seven Mile today in protest against the injury to a student of the college, Newton Rengmai, when he was hit by a car inside the premises.

Meanwhile, the agitated students submitted a memorandum to the Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner with a slew of demands like ban on entry of heavy vehicles into the college campus, a permanent fence around the college campus, closure of the college gate at 9 pm, improvement the condition of the road to the college, and conservation of Deepor Beel.
