Ajmal says his phone tapped, to move court

By Our Staff Reporter

Guwahati, Nov 29: A day after the Congress alleged that he was talking to BJP leaders exploring a possible tie-up for the assembly election, AIUDF supremo and MP Badruddin Ajmal on Sunday expressed suspicions that his phone is being tapped, saying he would move the court seeking an inquiry.

"How do they (Congress) know with whom I am talking? It means they are monitoring my calls, smses and e-mails. I will take legal opinion and move the court for a CBI inquiry," he said.

AIUDF MLA from Barpeta Abdur Rahim Khan said tapping of Ajmal's phone is tantamount to breach of privilege.

Earlier, senior Congress minister Rakibul Hussain had said his party is  well aware of the activities of the AIUDF chief.

"People know with whom Ajmal is talking to. Even we know it. His brother came from Dubai and held talks with some BJP leaders. We have information about that meeting - where and when it was held," Hussain had said.
