Ajmal to contest from South Salmara

Guwahati, March 21: Dhubri MP Badruddin Ajmal will contest the assembly elections from South Salmara constituency, the AIUDF said today. His son Abdul Rahim Ajmal represents the seat in the current assembly.

The perfume baron filed his nomition papers before the returning officer at the district headquarter town Hatsingimari. Ajmal's second son Abdur Rahim Ajmal will seek to retain the Jamumukh constituency, while the AIUDF has nomited Maslur Rehman Choudhury in Samaguri.

Party's legislature party leader Hafiz Baseer Ahmed Qasimi has been re-nomited from the Bilasipara West constituency.
