Alliance: AGP-BJP keep talking

NEW DELHI/GUWAHATI, March 1: As marathon talks over an electoral alliance between the AGP and the BJP inched closer to fil stage, AGP legislature party leader Phanibhushan Choudhury on Tuesday reached New Delhi to join the negotiations. Senior AGP leaders including party president Atul Bora, working president Keshab Mahanta and others are already camping in New Delhi since Monday. It has been learnt that AGP leaders have been holding continuous parleys with BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma ahead of their meeting with BJP president Amit Shah to reach a fil agreement on seat sharing. It is being expected that by tomorrow, alliance between the two parties will take official shape.

Meanwhile, sources informed that while the BJP is reluctant to give more seats to the AGP, the latter is asking for 30 seats to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections.
